Yeah, it's what I'm supposed to do for my finals *cries* No need to tell you how scared I am knowing I must memorize this + other two speeches even longer than this one for...tomorrow. yay.

モネダ宮殿 (Palacio de la moneda)

モネダ宮殿は現在のチリ大統領府です。もともと貨幣鋳造所として落成しました。ちなみにモネダとはスペイン語で貨幣の意味です。この建物は１８０５年にイタリア人建築家ホアキン・トエスカの手によってイタリア新古典主義様式で作られました。簡素な様式ですが、均整のとれた美しさでは秀でて、南米における植民地時代の建築物としては最も優れたものの一つと評価されています。

２日に一度（４８時間毎）、午前９時５０分から３０分ほど行われる同宮殿の衛兵交代式は、観光名物にもなっています。内部は左右対称に作られ、まず第一の中庭（大砲の庭）、そして第二の中庭（オレンジの庭）を中心に設計されています。第二の庭を望む正面３階に大統領執務室が設けられ、稀に大統領本人が顔をだして一般に挨拶することさえあります。

It's so weird to hear him speaking normally (nor harsh vocals, lol) and for so long in English! I had heard some interviews but he spoke a lot lower o.O whatever happened to his deeper voice :(
